Take Peace, It’s Yours

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5 TPT

But it was because of our rebellious deeds that he was pierced and because of our sins that he was crushed.
He endured the punishment that made us completely whole, and in his wounding we found our healing.

Jesus was chastised, or punished, so that we could have peace. He took our punishment and gave us peace instead. What an exchange! To have peace would mean to have wholeness in every area of our lives, beginning with salvation. Peace in our being means that
chaos and conflict do not rule our minds and bodies, but the wholeness of God does. Second Timothy 1:7 reminds us that
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. The end of Isaiah 53:5 says, “And by His stripeswe are healed.”

Jesus was punished in exchange for our complete wholeness. I have often thought of it as Jesus has paid the price for us to be healed back to God.

Jesus paid for us to have peace, and Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He is our state of being without fear and chaos. Jesus is peace that is beyond understanding. He is the reason we can overcome chaotic and overwhelming situations and remain peaceful. It’s during
this quiet that the Holy Spirit can speak calm into us and reveal solutions for us. The peace that Jesus is and gives is necessary to bring God’s will to earth, as it is in heaven.

The world needs peace. It needs Jesus Christ more than ever before. As we allow ourselves to be reconciled in God’s peace, we will share His hope, light and life with others.
