Joy in the Ways of the Lord

There is such joy in the ways of the Lord! I’ve discovered throughout my walk with Him that He truly has great things in store for those who love Him. Even in our weakness, God causes joy to erupt as He carries us by His grace into the life He gives. When we look at ourselves, we often see shortcomings and we can become disappointed. But when we keep our eyes on Jesus, we see what He sees. Then He graces us to become what He knows we’re created to be!
In Psalms we can see that we need God to fulfill His plans and purposes in us through His word and that we cannot do it without Him.

Psalms 119:33-40 (NKJV):
Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.
Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good.
Behold, I long for Your precepts;
Revive me in Your righteousness.

I love looking at the word of God and seeing how God is connected to me. I love discovering that I need Him. When I go through difficult times, I know that I am not enough to overcome gracefully on my own. I want to attain the fullness that God has for me through Him. There is a calming peace knowing that I cannot do it alone and that God will do it in me as I trust in Him.
The world has a lot to offer in the way of a self-seeking life, but there is much more delight while walking in the ways of the Lord. Here we find peace, fulfillment and joy from a heaven-on-earth perspective. There is nothing else like it and nothing else will do.
